Objective:

The Course has been designed in conjunction with (AS 3745 – 2002) Emergency Control Organisation and Procedures in Buildings and Emergency Response for Health Care Facilities (AS 4083 – 1997) This will give the Chief Warden/Deputies the specialist training required to fulfill their specified role, and to make certain they have the required practical training to enable them to deal with any emergency which may arise in the work place.

  •  Chief Warden Responsibilities and Duties
  •  The acts & regsulations relating to the Emergency Control Organisation
  •  The management of the response team during an evacuation
  •  Liasing with the Emergency Services
  •  Identifying site specific building essential services
  •  Emergency Procedures in bomb threats
  •  Fire Panel identification and operation of panels
  •  Communication systems, including Emergency Warning and Intercommunication Systems (EWIS)

Intended for:

This course is designed for all work locations and intended for anyone who may receive a Bomb Threat (eg Receptionist) or who may be involved in a search of a building or the evacuation of the building.

Objective:

Gives the participant an understanding in dealing with a bomb and to give a good general awareness of what to expect and what to be aware of in the event of a Bomb Threat and importantly how to deal with a threat real or hoax.

Course Content:

  • Understanding what a Bomb Threat is

  • Fire Safety Awareness

  • Explosive types & familiarisation. Practical familiarisation

  • Emergency response procedures to a threat

  • Evacuation procedures

  • Bomb Threat Video

Duration:
2 Hours.

Intended for:

Staff who will be actively involved in the Emergency Response Team and should include all Wardens, and other personal as deemed necessary by senior management.

Objective:

To give all the Wardens the specialist training required to fulfill their specified role, and to make certain they have the required practical training to enable them to deal with any emergency which may arise in the work place.

Course Content: 

  • Wardens Responsibilities and Duties

  • Basic evacuation procedures

  • Elements of combustion and types of fires

  • Types of fire extinguishers and extinguishing agents

  • Basic fire safety and Firefighting skills

  • Moving in smoke filled environments

  • Practical operation of fire extinguishers by students

  • When not possible for practical fire demonstration a video will be used 

Extinguishers included in the practical demonstration are:

  • Water stored pressure type x 1

  • 4.5 kg Dry chemical type x 1

  • 9.0 Ltr A.F.F.F x 1

  • 2.0kg Co2 type x 1

Other types may be substituted to suit client needs.

This course has been designed for workers who maybe required to don a Breathing Apparatus in the course of their occupation or as part of an Emergency Response Team. It is also for staff who have a sound understanding and knowledge of emergency procedures. This course is of a high practical content. This course is a refresher to qualified operators.

Objective:

The objective of this course is to give the participants an understanding of the performance capabilities of their equipment. Great emphasis is also placed on the individuals capabilities to handle themselves in a stressful situation while wearing this equipment.

Course Content:

  • Theoretical training on particular sets

  • Donning, start - up & operating procedures

  • Moving in smoke filled environments

  • Fire Building exercise or work place exercise


Pre-requisite:

That students have some previous knowledge in emergency procedures.

Course size up to 10 students.

This course falls under the non-accredited training category

This course has been designed for workers who maybe required to don a Breathing Apparatus in the course of their occupation or as part of an Emergency Response Team. It is also for staff that have a sound understanding and knowledge of emergency procedures. This course is of a high practical content.
